Objectives:
To enhance the professional knowledge and skills of English teachers by introducing strategies and techniques in teaching English pronunciation to non-English speaking students

Contents:
Topics include:
(1) A brief review of the basic physiology of speech sound production,
(2) The English segmental systems (vowels and consonants) and the suprasegmental system (tress, intonation, and rhythm),
(3) Illustrations of some of the common focal points of pronunciation teaching to Chinese-speaking EFL students,
(4) Suggestion of four levels of pronunciation acquisition in the teaching of English as a second or foreign language.
